Japanese Speech Contest for International Students was held on March 7th
On Friday, March 7th, 2025, the Japanese Speech Contest for International Students was held under the auspices of General Incorporated Foundation Wajinkai and NPO Biwako Health and Welfare Consortium.
A total of eight students and researchers enrolled in Japanese language classes—from pre-intermediate to advanced levels—offered by the International Center participated in the contest. Each delivered a presentation in Japanese, sharing their thoughts on daily life in Japan and their dreams for the future.
Other international students, including those who had just started learning Japanese, attended as audience members to watch their friends’ performance. Additionally, faculty and staff from the speaker’s departments also came to support them.
The speeches were evaluated by five judges. Former President Tadao Bamba and the Chairperson of Wajinkai Yoko Akada were invited and Director Tooyama and two others were from the university. After a thorough evaluation, Tsedenbal Batchimeg and Asraa Faris Abdulridha Aldoghachi were awarded the Grand Prize.
This speech contest provided a valuable opportunity to enhance international students' motivation to learn Japanese and promote international understanding.
